I have a supply of the "D" shaped self adhesive weather stripping from Replicaparts that I am considering using around the inside edge of the doors on my roadster. Has anyone done this before and was it worth doing? My goal is to eliminate a rattle I have in the doors since I can't seem to be able to get the latch positioned so the door closes snug. There a very small amount of play in the mating of the latch and striker. Thanks, Jim.

IMO putting the "D" shaped weather stripping is definitely worth installing on the edge of the doors. It looks good, protects the paint and sounds better when you close the door. I have seen this type of weather stripping on just about all the Cobras. There shouldn't be any play between the latch and the striker plate. You need to keep adjusting the striker to eliminate the play. Don't forget to put some white grease on the inside of the latch assembly. When I got my car back from the painter I had to readjust the doors and striker to get the alignment as perfect as I could. The doors now latch without any play. Good Luck!

While you are greasing or gear oiling that latch remove this spring.

The spring inside the cage is more than enough. W/o this additional spring the latch will last a lot longer and be much easier to operate.

I just purchased and installed the ********** D seal in my Mk IV build. I'ts a top quality product with 3M adhesive. I used the trunk bulb seal from FF. I purchased 30' @ $2.00 foot. the doors and hood took about 25ft to finish.
