I'm going to change my air cleaner to one that does not have the breather meaning the line that runs to the air cleaner will be eliminated. Does anyone know of an oil cap breather combo that screws in? My current cap is a threaded type.

I'd leave it as is. It looks fine, so why change? Besides, there's always the chance of the engine vacuum getting out of whack or spraying oil or oil mist somewhere else with no way to vent crankcase pressure.

The new air cleaner does not have a provision for the line. I could do something like this.

I would make a connection on the air cleaner before running with an open breather like the one pictured. You will smell the bypass gasses at idle and if you have a heater it will be very noticeable.

Mike Forte has a 90 degree angle piece that u cut a hole for in the base of the air cleaner and attach with rivets (the screws shown below get tossed).

Or, you can PM me and I'll send you mine.

Before you loss that hose understand what it does. If you look at a stock 302, you will see the PCV valve hooked to one valve cover and this hose hooked to the other. Intake vacuum at the PVC pulls the crankcase fumes out of the engine and the void created is filled with fresh air from the hose to the air cleaner. Without the connection to the air cleaner a vacuum in the crankcase pulls in dirt from every minute opening. This includes front and rear crankseals, around PVC valve, etc.
The hose needs to not only go to the air cleaner but to that area which is inside the filter.
