Curious to see what some of you hardcore wiring guys like to use for weatherproof aftermarket wiring connectors. I have used a few Metri-pack and Weather-pack on my car (I know they are GM so maybe not technically aftermarket but they are readily available like aftermarket connectors), and while they are solid, they are about 20x larger than they need to be. It's ridiculous how long these things are. There is no reason a 2 pin connector needs to be 3" long!
I know there are OEM connectors that are small but they are extremely difficult to obtain parts for. Maybe you can get the terminals but the housings and gaskets and all that are tough to find. There has to be a readily available alternative that is very small in size?

I use a lot of Deutsch DT and DTM (smaller) series for work and 818.
Waytek or Delcity has them.
I have a 10year old $200 deutsch crimp tool that crimps from 4 sides.
Here is a lower cost tool. http://www.delcity.net/store/Closed-Barrel-Crimp-Tool/p_809361.h_809366.t_1.r_IF1003?mkwid=sc9nzWzMA&crid=38094426869&mp_kw=&mp_mt=&gclid=Cj0KEQjwwpm3BRDuh5awn4qJpLwBEiQAATTAQTJfIKGP 7Sh5Qa6ce2Ve5FOuj_9jYhwySAtOzbLkhC8aAvTb8P8HAQ

Do you happen to have a pic showing about how big they are? A banana for scale or something perhaps?

Hindsight.
There is a 12 pin Grey DT series connector that feeds my switch panel in this picture.
The DTM is about 2/3rds the size of the DT.
I hate to post my wiring mess before I cleaned it up.

Ah cool thank you Bob. The wiring on your car looks fantastic. Very clean. Once loomed it will be as you want it. With all the colors in there, it's hard for some to tell it's organized. I got a couple snickers at the car show I was at the other week about the wires on my car but people don't realize that while it looks messy due to all the colors, there are logical and small limbs and branches that are neatly organized and once wrapped in loom, it will look perfect.
Regarding that crimp tool you posted, I'm assuming that is for ONE of the two different kinds of pins you can use on those Deutsch connectors? It looks like they have a closed-barrel type and an open-barrel type. I believe I have the right crimp tool to use on the open-barrel type, and it's the same tool that works on the Metripack and weatherpack connectors. IE these are what I think I have the tool for: http://www.delcity.net/store/AT-Series-Contact-Sockets/p_810257 and these are what I think the tool you posted are for: http://www.delcity.net/store/AT-Series-Contact-Sockets/p_810257.h_810261.t_1 Is that right?

I use these. They're weather pack knock offs. Cheap as hell and pretty darn effective.

Banggood has all sorts of shapes and sizes.

In the last 10 years using these connectors, I 've only used the closed barrel pins.
I'm more proud of the wiring I did in my ECU box.

I too really like the Deutsch DTM connectors. They are a bit pricey and found the Amphenol ATM connectors from WaytecWire.com for a fraction of the cost. They are basically Deutsch DTM knockoffs. They come in different pin configuration.
As an example.
