I was going to do a 1000 and 2000 wet sand followed my mothers. Looking for a mirror finish.

Any advice?

My opinion - don't.

Polishing every bloody panel (every, including floors) was the biggest mistake of my build. Lots of wasted time and effort.

You have to upkeep it, and the simple fact is, when your car is done you see almost no aluminum panels. It just isn't worth it - powerdercoat them and carpet the interior. Long-run you will be 1000x happier.
