Hi Everyone,

I am planning on deleting the unused Hot Rod column connector and associated wiring from the Ron Francis wire bundle for my Coupe. After studying the schematic and hardware it looks straight forward to accomplish. The motivation would be to save a little space, clean it up, and not have that extra appendage behind the dash. Any comments or advise?

The buildup of the coupe is going nicely, and the forum has been infinitely helpful, and entertaining!

Thanks to everyone on the forum!

Terry

I removed (dieted) the Hotrod connector from my MK4 Ron Francis harness. It isn't too bad, but the wire spreads out a bit beyond where you think it goes. Be prepared to sit with the harness in front of you on a table and have a new roll of good electrical tape to re-wrap when you're done. Is it worth it? I wouldn't do it again, but I are a low mono-brow, knuckle-draging mekanik and HATE doing electrical work.

I've removed it on both of my Roadster builds. Space is at a premium plus makes things a little neater. All of the wires are duplicates of wires in other parts of the harness. I just strip back enough of the tape and convulute to get to the main harness, and then clip the leads and put a piece of shrink wrap over them. Then wrap it back up. Pretty easy.

Thanks everyone! Deletion completed, didn't take long at all and cleaned up nicely.

Thanks again!
