View Full Version : Converting from Standard to Pin Drive Front Questions

So I've got an older car (Mark 1.5) and am thinking about converting my front suspension to pin drive width in order to open-up my wheel options. (Can't seem to find too many 8" wide wheels with 5.25" back spacing.)

And I've already got Mark 2 type adjustable upper control arms and FFR's tubular lower control arms. So here's my questions:

1. In order to convert to pin drive width, do I simply need to get a set of FFR's pin drive width lower control arms (#12508) and pin drive width spindle adapter brackets (#12507)?

2. I assume I can reuse my existing adjustable upper control arms. Is that correct?

3. And lastly, does anyone know how much pin drive width moves the spindles inboard as compared to standard width? (Trying to figure out how much wheel back spacing requirements change by going to pin drive width.)

Thanks.
