On Saturday, Michael and I went to NCM Motorsports Park - Bowling Green, Kentucky. We met wit with Mitch Wright (818R builder) that was hosting a Trackx. A non timed event. See here for Info:
http://www.motorsportspark.org/get-on-track/trackx/
Michael, on the Left has 1 years experience in our 818, but has never been on a race track in his life.
Mitch on the RIGHT should know this track like the back of his hand, but has never driven our 818.
Special thanks to Mitch for spending time with us and for hosting a great event.
Watch below to see what happens

If they are both on the left, who is that driving on the right?
I'm guessing Mitch is on the right.
Nice videos.

Pretty cool. Video is making a loud chattering sound. Don't know if it's the video or mic catching something.

The chatter was the 2 rear hatches banging against each other right next to the camera. Sorry about that.

After a great day Saturday, we drove up to Columbus, Indiana for some slalom practice with the Columbus Sports Car Club on Sunday.

Michael finished in the top 10% while I was mid pack.
With only 100 miles to drive home, Michael decided to NOT put the car back on the trailer and drive home on country roads. Our weekend started with it below freezing and ended with it in the high 60's

Looks like a great weekend Bob & Michael! Man, Michael is getting smooth :) I just checked out the CSCC results before logging on here; good job! There was some serious hardware and drivers at the top of the heap and Michael was right there! Hated to miss yesterday but we're up to our necks in getting packed up and prepared to move in a couple of weeks so as much as it pained me to do so with all of the sunshine and mild temps I did the responsible thing and kept plugging away...
Hope to see you at the next one,
Jeff

LOL Bob, I look like a 12 year old in the seat compared to Michael.
Great to meet you both and allow me to take one of your runs in your car, had a blast. Glad you guys were able to make it down and enjoy the beautiful weather and knock some of the winter dust off the track.

Hi Jeff,
Michael is getting pretty fast. He had a couple of runs down in the 49s but clipped some cones. Yea, that one black Lotus with 8"splitter, 12" tall wing, and 275 hoosiers on all four corners was really fast.

Mitch, you really picked it up in the second half of the lap. I'd loved to see what you could do with lots of time in your 818R this summer.

Cool video Bob. Nice driving both both of them. You can see Mitch getting more comfortable with the car at the end compared to the start of the video. I'd love to do side by sides for my car at NYST with different drivers. Or, maybe for my confidence I shouldn't do that :)

Is your rearview mirror aftermarket or donor? It looks pretty steady where I've heard others complain about vibration. Did you do anything different?

Nothing special. It's a lighter than most, I had laying around.

Great video, looks like you needed a booster seat !
My son Michael is +300# and 6'3" when he stands up straight. So there is only about 3/4" padding between your butt and cross bars.
I'm 6' 0" ~300# so we do not have and adjustable seat.
I believe we have the most wookiee compatible 818 out there.
Mitch's arms were totally stretched to reach the steering wheel and shifter.

I got in Bob & Michael's car last year; with me at 5'9"/160 there was no way I could drive it :) Instead I took a rid with Michael driving and it was a hoot!

I think we will start carrying around a booster seat for the non-wookiee types.

Nick Myers was driving the lotus. He was the 2013 Cmod national champion.

Yup, Nick is fast in ANYTHING.You could put him in a pedal car and he'd be in contention for FTD! He and I have said that we need to strap him into my car sometime :D

At last weeks autocross, I data logged our runs.
This is the first 30 seconds of a run. Please let me know if anyone sees any problems.
Is there other data I should be logging?
This is the 04FXT stock tune. I was expecting 11PSI of boost. Didn't quite get there.

10.2 psi seems close though. I've also seen tuners log the following parameters (in addition to what you have):
A/F Correction #1 – Air Fuel Correction Immediate / Short Term Fuel Trim
A/F Learning #1 – Air Fuel Corrected Learned / Long Term Fuel Trim
Feedback Knock Correction* (degrees)
Fine Learning Knock Correction* (degrees)
Is the AFR you're reading off of one of your narrowband O2 sensors or a wideband?

Thanks STIpwd
I will add those parameters to my logging setup.
I noticed that my MAF temp got up to 107 while idling in the pits. Then dropped down to 89 during the run. I will add a box around my air filter going to my side vent. Ambient temp during this run was about 65 degrees.
Anybody else see any issues?

Oil Pressure!
Hi Gator,
I will add oil pressure and post awic air temp as soon as I free up the analog ECU input that now go to the TGVs.
Here is a chart that goes with the data.

Bob, do you have a resistance to 0-5V board selected for this? My oil pressure transducer outputs a resistance.

I have not got a sensor yet. I will probably use a 3 wire active sensor.
Where 0.5 volts = 0psi and 4.5 volts = 100psi.

This should wire straight to the TGV sensor connector.

I might have to pick one of those up and run a T-fitting on the oil line so I can still use my other Prosport transducer for the oil pressure gauge:
http://prosportgauges.com/performance-oil-pressure-sender.aspx
I'm also logging through the TGV signal wires. One will be used for wideband O2 and I was planning to log post IC air temp with the other line but do you think oil pressure is more important? And is there any way to log more than two (in place of TGV) analogue signals with the stock ECU?

The Gas tank pressure sensor should also work as an analog input.
Also, I don't why the ECU get the gas level signal.

Good idea on using the gas tank sensor as an extra input, I deleted all that stuff so it should be available.
