Hey there. New to this forum. Has anyone, or can anyone point me to someone, who has built the Cobra Roadster with an electric motor and batteries set up instead of a gas engine. I'd like to build mine this way, and it would be great to follow someone's lead and learn from their build.

Thanks

There are several 818's that have either been built or are under construction. ehanson007 (http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=2965)built one and sold it to china. I hyperlinked his name so you can send him a PM to ask about it. And here's his build thread. (http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?11755-33-Machine-electric-818e-build-Sold!-Headed-to-China!) I'm sure others will chime in soon. The model is different but I'm pretty sure the general concepts are probably the same.

Welcome to the forum!

:)

EDIT: here's the bob_n_cincy electric 818 build thread:

Welcome to the forum. I know that three of the FFR models have been constructed using electric power (818, coupe and 33). I would think that the technology should be similar in a roadster build.

Here's an Electric Roadster that I was following a few years ago. Sounds like a cool idea.

Welcome! As you get going, please keep us posted on progress, perhaps even start your own build thread. Personally I have also considered building an electric Coupe or 33 as my second FFR project and maybe watching your progress will get me off the fence!

Ran across this today and thought it might be helpful (or at least entertaining). :D
