View Full Version : Any 818C in PA, NJ, DE, or SE NY??
I am thinking about building a Coupe. I would really like to sit in a coupe, I have seen roadsters. Trip to Wareham a bit far for now.
Thanks,
Joe

Yeah I was about to post a thread asking if there is a coupe near Indianapolis. I want to see the interior and see how well I fit in it. Maybe ride in one to see how the car rides and how the road noise is.

I am 5'9" and found it a little difficult to get in and out due to the low to the ground chassis, coupe was not any better. It takes some practice, we are going to go with the 818S and add the convertible top for convenience and bad weather driving

Did you go to the Factory to see them? I am 5 10 my roadester sits low that not prob but shoe horning in is my concern. I believe there is a roll cage running above doors, is that correct?

Joe, the 818C does not come with a roll cage, it is basically an 818S with a fiberglass roof. A roll cage could be put in but you'd have to build it yourself. Here's an example of someone who's building their own roll cage in an 818C:

The coupe version of the 818 was only released 4-5 months ago so there are very few out there, let alone any that drive yet. There are, however, many more 818S and R's out there in various stages of completion.

I know where two "s" are and one coupe. None are driveable yet. My S is mostly put together, the other S I don't know (close to go kart?), and the coupe was delivered late last year. We're in Brownsburg, Zionsville, and NW corner of Indy. The next closest one is in Cincy which is driving (Bob'n'Cincy).

Craig, isn't it safe to say that if you put something across the top of the roll bar to the top of the windshield in your roadster that you would approximate getting in and out of the coupe?

Not sure. Don't know how much higher the door opening is if at all.

Can't be enough to really matter! Same door skin, same windshield, same roll bar

We visit twice a year and was at the Moochfest but best thing is to go sit in one, I just found it little difficult

I will be at an autocross Sunday in Columbus Indiana with my 818S. Come and go for a ride.

This was Michael last time there. He was pushing the car pretty hard. When the track switched to black top, he got real loose.
