I am working on a MKIII with a 2003 Coyote dual o/h cam engine that I need help on what to use for a cold air intake. There isn't much room for anything, much less the stock intake. Does anybody have this setup in a MKIII that can help me? The throttle body faces @8:00, and I need something short to use. Pictures would help very much. Email would also help. The Coyote 5.0L DOHC didn't come out until 2011. It sounds like you have a 4.6L DOHC if it is a 2003 engine and the throttle body is facing towards 8:00 o'clock. Can you provide a picture of the engine bay?

Your best bet is Airaid. They have a product line called UBI (U Build It) with all sorts of tubes, silicone couplers, MAF adapters, etc. to build your own inlet/cold air system.

I have an 04 Mach 1 DOHC motor in a Mark IV chassis and ran into the same problem as you. I don't know the difference between the Mark III and IV but what I ended up doing might give you some ideas. I did not want to lengthen the MAF wiring connection, so I let the harness dictate the MAF location. The location is tight (I like the word compact a little better), but everything fits, including the large filter (which is easy to replace) and the engine bay looks cleaner. The flex connector between the manifold and the MAF sensor is 4" ID, a slight reduction through the sensor and then back to 4" to the filter. The MAF sensor is a little farther away from the manifold then on the donor, but the ECU doesn't seem to mind, so I don't worry about it.

I have the 04 Mach1 4.6L DOHC in the Mk III chassis. I wasn't the builder, but photos might give some ideas. Hope it helps.
