Just wanted to introduce myself to say hello from Las Vegas. I works for SOLIDWORKS (hence my name) which many of you seem to either use, or be familiar with. I have a mechanical engineering background and spent many years building and then designing plastic injection molds for plastic parts.

A good friend of mine, and my former boss at SOLIDWORKS has been friends with the FFR guys for years, and FFR has always been a great customer of ours at SOLIDWORKS. I was first turned on to FFR some years back when my old boss partnered with FFR on the electric 33. Getting to take a ride in that and other FFR projects had me fascinated with the FFR products, community, and process.

After seeing the development and birth of the 818 I figured it was time to finally pick one up (or have it delivered actually). While I was in Boston last week I headed down to FRR with my friend to get my order in. After checking in with some guys around the shop and seeing what everyone was up to, I sat down with Tony Z to get the order done. Expecting shipment in late March in order to get my garage clean.

I ordered an 818S with a bunch of carbon accessories and some of the Wildwood stuff. Going to use the 2007 2.5L turbo engine. Here are some pics:

And the back of one of the new trailers they are selling:

I've already spent hours reading through the build threads, and I'm looking forward to getting mine going as well.

Welcome to the forum and the community. Kinda scary to see what will come of your talents and a FF kit under one roof. Enjoy the build.

Hey Mike, Welcome.

You should come buy Cars and Coffee on Saturdays and say hi to the Cobra gang. There are a couple of FFR's there, as well as Backdraft and Superformance.

Big Blocker (Pete, Doc, etc.) is usually there with his blue/white car, and I hang out alot also. We'll be interested in looking at the 818 when you get it, too. :)

Which C&C? I've been to the one on Eastern and the 215 at Twin Peeks.

That's the one, the Cobra guys usually park right up against Twin peaks.

I haven't made it the last couple of weeks, but I did make it on Sunday to Jones and Cheyenne this weekend.

There was a '33 FFR there yesterday, builder is a retired aircraft mechanic. He finally got it on the road and brought it out to play. :)
