A lot of the guys here at the Factory, and myself, will tell you to go with the race-back Kirkey's that we offer. They're very comfortable and you can conform the width of the seats to fit any body type by bending the wings.

John,

A lot depends on your size and shape. I had the Kirkey Road Race seats (mentioned by Courtnie) in my coupe for several years. If you are slender, you will like these seats. I'm no long on the slender side but more of the "beefy" side at 6'2" and 205 lbs ... and I found these seat to be too tight for my shape (standard is 16" width). I went with the Kirkey low back vintage seats in the 17" size and found much more comfort, plus they are vinyl upholstery which allows you to move your bottom around in the seat to find a comfortable sitting position. The fabric upholstery in the road race seat is too grippy and the 16" seat was too narrow to move around in the seat. The only issue I had with the low back seats is you have to add a little lumbar padding for comfort.

Will there by multiple drivers of this coupe? If you will be the only driver, you may want to mount the seat permanently, as that will give the most headroom and legroom (seat mounted directly to the floor, all the way back). Just try to cover all the bases here ...

I have the fiberglass seats that came with the kit and I really like them. Probably not for everyone but worth a try if you can hook up with someone local.

I have to agree with Russ. I also have the fiberglass buckets that came with the kit, and they fit me fine. 6', 225. They almost suck me down into them, and are comfortable. With the limited vision, I am not sure I would like a high back seat, especially if they had bolsters at the shoulder. They may limit your view.

I bought the Corbeau Forza seats. They are a little taller so may not work with all sizes but they are a little more padded, and look quite good in the Coupe.

W/ a little creativity using a floor or bottle jack and some chunks of 4x4 or 2x4 you can expand the width of the seat.

I am 6'3" tall and weigh 240lbs. I fit very nicely in the FFR Kirkey race seats. I had them in my Type 65 and 818S. I like the comfort as well as the fact that they keep me in place on hard cornering. Just my 2 cents.

I used the Kirkey Intermediate Drag seats. The don't have the shoulder bolsters that can hinder visibility and access in and out.
I also added some high density foam under the cover along with a strip for lumbar support and I could sit in them for hours. I'm about 6' and 215 so the 17" seat worked perfect.

Kirkey road race seats were difficult for me to get in the car. Trying to get in without rubbing the side bolster like crazy was the problem. I switched out to the Kirkey vintage race seat. I'm 6-1 225...

Has anyone installed the seats mustang seats offered by Ford Racing? I think they are made by Recaro..

I thought about the Ford Racing Seats, but they were prohibitively expensive. I went with Recaro Speed Seats. For either you would have to drop the floor.
By dropping the floor, it pulled the wings inboard. I also narrowed the tunnel around the transmission to give the driver the feeling of a bit more room. The articulation of the seats is great and the tracks work well. I have some pics somewhere but it may be hard to see the seats in a good position. Let me know. I can try to put one back in to give you a better idea. They have seat covers on them regardless. I think they were a good choice, and a great deal direct from the factory.
