I have gone full circle and am now considering Kirkey Classic seats again! I see they come in different widths, so was wondering what would be a good width for an average size guy? I fit the FFR big and tall seats nicely so I can use that as a measure. The widths that Kirkey show, are they max width?

Do you think with the Kirkeys and their covers I will have a little more legroom and be lower than the Big Tall seats?

Sit on the floor and put a shoe box or similar touching the outside of your hip on each side. Measure between the boxes. That is the width of the seat you would want for a snug fit. I use a 15" for track but prefer the 16" for everyday driving as the 15" is a little tight. FWIW I'm 6' 2" and 200 lbs.

Thanks Mike. Do you have the Kirkey Classics?

Chop,

I have the Kirkey vintage low-back buckets if those are the ones you're referring to. If you mean their standard high-back, I think those are identical, except for the upper portion with the head rest area. Mine are 16" and with the thin covers and padding I added (didn't use the Kirkey covers and padding) I actually have too much room - and I'm a fairly large guy at 6" and 210 lbs. If you have your parking brake on the side of the trans tunnel, watch out for contact with the passenger seat. Also, I think that 17" is about as wide as you can go in these cars.

And here's a pic of the seats in the finished car:
