Greetings from a first time poster.
We pulled the trigger about a month ago on a 2016 Roadster kit. It will arrive here the week of March 1. I am excited as it is the realization of a long time dream, ever since I missed out (in 1986) on a 289 "real" Cobra that was for sale in Dallas for $30k. My buddy and I went to lunch to discuss how we could swing it and when we returned after an hour, it was gone.
The new FF kit will be a complete kit with the new IRS and lots of other (half-priced) options. I have spoken to Mike Forte and he'll be providing a Coyote and T-60 plus a bunch of other components.
I plan to paint the car the same McLaren platinum that is used on the roadster shown on the FF website.
This week was about cleaning up and clearing out the garage in anticipation.
The hardest part was deciding to park my 67 Jaguar E-Type OTS in a self-storage facility nearby to give us some extra working room. Since I have owned the Jag for 34 years, I am having a bit of separation anxiety.

I do plan to drive the E Type down to San Marcos for the Texas Cobra meet in April. I hope to caravan down with some other DFW attendees.
I am also registered for Build School April 8-10.
I plan to post images and observations as we go.
I am about 10 min west of DFW airport if you are ever in the area, stop in for a beer/whatever.
Wish me luck!

Congratulations!!! Best of all, the wiring should be a piece of cake for anyone who owns a Lucas equipped E-type!

Looking forward to hearing more about your project - enjoy the journey!

Larry,
Welcome to the club. The local group meets the first Saturday of the month. Hope to see you around.
There are a number of local guys with FFR's so let us know if you have any questions.

Larry, you don't need a car to join the fun at the Texas Cobra Spring Meet in San Marcos. Come join us. http://www.texascobrameet.com/

Larry, did you get your car yet?

Anytime you want to come over, let me know, I usually work on my car on Saturdays.

Larry, did you get your car yet?

Anytime you want to come over, let me know, I usually work on my car on Saturdays.

The kit arrived Thursday March 3 and was rolled into the still cluttered garage.
I promptly left town the following day for a week of work in Orlando.
Upon return, I started the process of inventorying the parts.
Last weekend I built the body buck and got the body off and out of the way.

I have been reading the forum on all the pertinent topics and was beginning to feel like I had bitten off more than my unskilled hands and mind could accomplish. I think I am going to be asking the forum lots of dumb questions in the upcoming months.

Our 14 yr old granddaughter was in town for her Spring Break and was helping with the bodybuck. For lunch she wanted Panda Express so off I went. After lunch, we all read our fortune cookies. Mine said "You should be able to undertake and complete anything you desire." We all got a great laugh out of the irony and started removing panels.
I riveted the "F" panels in place and saw that the lower Suspension parts I needed next were on backorder!
A call to FFR and learned they are shipping them this week. I should have them by midweek next. Then I can really get going.

I am still in for the Texas Cobra meet in 2 weeks although the 67Jag may or may not get the call. Concern about the miles when it hasn't been too far recently.

I'd love to stop by tomorrow if you are going to be working on yours.
How do I reach you for an address?
My number is 817-980-2135.
