I'm looking to powder coat about 8 engine side panels, including the firewall. I have not yet been able to find a reasonable local powder coaster to to the job. Everyone is either too busy, only does big jobs, or wants $700. Any suggestions?

I use xtreme powder coating in grand prairie. They have a $60 minimum.

Try Quality Powder Coating on Forms Drive in Carrolton or Crosslink Powder Coating on Morrison Street in Dallas.
Both do great work at very reasonable prices.

I am going to get an estimate from Quality Powder Coating and extreme to start with, they are both relatively close to me. Any idea what this should cost? $200-$300?

Or less.

Just as a reference, I had the entire lot of roadster panels powder coated here in Maine for a tad under $700. The cleaning and prep work of all those panels takes a fair amount of time. The spraying and baking of the powder goes quickly. Also takes a fair amount of labor hours to wrap all the completed panels in paper.

My powder guy showed me how debur everything to save some money. Probably the hardest part of the job. I had 72 parts and panels done for $900 and another 100 for a 2 1/2 inch heater box extension made from the extra drivers side panel.

I have actually done my own powder coating before, but I got rid of my oven a year ago. Now I have an Eastwood oven, it only fits a 16" max part. If coating costs more than $300, I may look into building another over. All It takes is some galvanized steel and rock wool, and the guts of an old oven.

Yes, please do that. Then I can bring my parts over and do it at your place. :)
