Does any one know what material the 33 Grill is made of, I think I saw somewhere that it is cast aluminum. I was thinking of having it chromed and the plater wanted to know what material it was. Thx.

Would it be possible or worth the work of polishing it? Mines still on backorder.

I'm looking into polishing the grill now, one plater wanted over 2,000. to chrome and the other one couldn't do a piece that size. It does look nice polished. Have you put anything on the grill to preserve the finish such as shark hide?

I just polished the outside and would keep after it once in awhile with Mothers aluminum polish. Looked fine to me.

Thanks, I think it looks great polished, definitely the way to go. At this point i want to get the car done and the money saved can go toward better paint.

When Dr Ruth straightened mine, he had someone polish mine for about $300 if I remember correctly!

I had mine chromed along with the windshield frame and it drove the plater crazy, the quality of the casting required many trips thru the tanks. The result is great and personally keeping chrome looking great is easier than polished aluminum.

Sheephearder, i forgot about Dan Ruth I can give him a shout will just have to fiq. Out shipping from east coast.
Galema33 I do think the chrome looks great on this car but I wonder if your platter would want to stick his head in the Lions mouth a second time lol.

it took 2 months of work to get the parts looking like they should, the initial estimate was not even close to what it ended up costing:(

Yes I agree that chrome is easier to maintain but i do worry about the final cost especially when we're starting at 2 grand. I think i'll polish the spokes and paint the frame of it body color.
