Black Veltex Carpet Snaps

Apparently these were used to hold the entire carpet on a lot of the English roadsters. I saw on another thread that some have used these to hold down the mats. Has anyone tried these for their total carpet install?

I used them to hold down the rear-most piece of my trunk carpet, which covers the access holes for the fuel tank and a cubby in the floor.

For my mats (which I made using some scrap carpet), I used Lift-the-Dot snaps that are made for working with carpet.
