Would it kill you to actually post here instead of just redirecting people to another site? Putting a link in your sig to a build blog is one thing, but just posting links to another site is not in the spirit of this site.

Good point - I didn't realize it would be an issue, Wordpress is a very common blog format.
Next time I will for sure - thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, I was a bit harsh. I don't like the way that came out.
I apologize.

You can't trust a shart.

I like 3 and 7. But if you are designing a custom tail light treatment, why not make a custom led "racetrack"? Something like the late model dart/Durango/charger.

Jonas,
I played around with changing the tail lights also. My plan was to use the lights from an HHR, since they are already slanted they would face out vertically. At least that was what I was hoping. I took a measurement off an HHR light in a parking lot and cut out red circles and stuck them on the back. On the HHR they don't look big, on the coupe they look disproportional much like the design 5 you have. In the end I stuck with the original lights. If you are worried about visibility you can always upgrade to LED bulbs. If you are insisting on other lights I guess I like your "original look" upgrade the best.
Your car your choice though!!

Jonas,
It might be a good move to do a poll on this forum regarding your options on the blog. It might gender some interest for people who are just noticing this thread. Just a suggestion.
WEK.

Next time I will include the images locally as well.....point taken.:) Here's the list of possibilities, nothing concrete yet all all.

I can't help but notice it's starting to look like a list of emogees
Sleepy Daytona, excited Daytona, Happy etc.
I do like the idea though and it's one way that we make our ride truly unique which is why my 33 will have one off taillights as well.

Well here is my vote and choice for the build, courtesy of VMAN7. Brake lights in Upper Centre Slot.

Number 3 looks good if you are going to change the stock ones

My personal input is a large red led strip at the top of the window you really need to mount the brake lights high for people to see them, remember these cars are around 42" tall. As for different tail lights I like op. 1 and 7.

That is awesome. Adding to the list

it has a reworked spoiler, I am changing out the F5 Logo with something else. the rear fenders require alterations and there is a rear 4 channel diffuser underneath.
I think David did a good job laying it out. The only change I am contemplating is moving the brake light.
Thats the problem with these forums, you plan something out, and then you see something else, lol

I too, thought the FFR supplied lights were a little small. I want to stay with the original design spirit, so I am using the larger Roadster lights, ala, design 7, and adding 2 matching backup lights. Resembles the Superformance concept but follows the curve of the vent.

Yes - we we are throwing spaghetti at the wall with all of these designs, but I really want to keep the car looking as if it rolled out of the factory with the lights we choose. We are spending a lot of time looking at cars of the era to see what was done back then as opposed to trying to make something modern stick.

That's funny, I went the opposite direction with my roadster builds. I like the coupe lights better than the roadster lights. Glass instead of plastic, lower profile, metal retainers:

Which goes to show, everyone has their own preference.
Which do YOU like?

No kidding - great looking roadster BTW, that YELLOW, wow.
I love these early stages of the build, playing around with possibilities and themes for the car.
Right now these are my guidelines: (AKA, what I like)
- a 1960s production supercar feel, premium materials gauges and amenities
- modern stuff is hidden, bluetooth stereo sure but you can't see it for example
- I'm not really a chrome guy, I want things to look like they mean business but something about chrome shine doesn't appeal to me personally.
The tail lights (and the rest of the car for that matter) for me should look like a designer in the 1960's was purposed with delivering the Daytona to a production audience in the 1960's. They could be LED perhaps but cannot look like a modern part thrown on an old design.
