Hello all,

I've recently relocated back to the Camp Lejeune area of NC and I'm looking to start a long term 818C project (long term in that I'm still trying to work out a budget with the wife for a donor…). Sadly, my life long relationship with Mazda's 13B engine has recently come to a tragic end as we just couldn't make it work anymore. I wanted her to perform, she just wanted to smoke seals and drink oil all day, I digress. So, in the hopes of breaking new ground and checking an item off of my bucket list, I'll be looking to build my own dream machine over the next few years.

I'm looking forward to lurking this forum and abusing the search function to find tips and tutorials. I doubt I'll have any questions that haven't already been answered in a thread but who knows.

Thanks in advance for all of the info!

Welcome. The 818C is a mighty sharp little vehicle. For many (many) years, I've wanted to build a roadster. The more the 818 evolves, the more my mind starts to change.

My in-laws used to have a place in Surf City. It was always fun times to turn the corner while out fishing only to come face to face with a hovercraft or something.

Welcome! There was an auto repair/service building on Cherry Point that was self serve with techs on hand, you just rent a bay and bring your car. I wish we had those in Washington! It would be a great place to rent out a spot and build your car to keep your tool costs low. I hear the EZ30R is a nice engine to use. Makes it sound more like a Porche...
