Hello, I am building a Daytona Coupe and am looking for an emissions donor car. I think all of my Mass friends here know the drill. Pre 1973, in my case it needs to be a 302 or larger displacement, registered one out of the last 5 years. I have been searching craigslist for the past 6 months to no avail. Anyone with information on a donor car would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much everyone!

For someone that has 12 months to wait, is it possible to buy a car that hasn't been registered in MA for 12 months within the past five years, and then insure/register the car for 12 months? I looked on eBay, and found options up to 460cid for less than a grand within driving distance. (with a trailer)

It would cost you the purchase price, plus sales tax, registration, and 12 months of insurance. But if you can find a beater for a few hundred, and can get minimum liability for $300-500, then that could be viable as long as you have the time before you need to scrap it. I wonder if it would even need to pass inspection, if you never planned to drive it.

I'm thinking about a roadster as a project to do with my sons, and I'd definitely want a crate motor.

I found my donor on Craigslist, it's a 69 Olds Delta 88 with a 455 and was sitting litterally in barn since the late 90's. It is drivable but barely passes inspection. Insurance isnt a big deal only 300 bucks!
