Possibly silly question. Are shock spacers Stainless or do I need to paint them?

I was looking at some of the assembly I have done already and I started to wonder if the shock spacers were plain steel or stainless? Do I need to take them apart and paint them? Will they rust?

I painted mine they appear to be mild steel.

They are aluminum. They won't rust. You can leave them alone, paint or polish them.

Sorry I didn't see your pic I thought you meant the spacers on the front shocks.
