Hey guys my name is Scott I'm building an 818C. I picked the kit up from factory five on Friday 1/8/2015. Got the kit out of the back of the truck today 1/10/15. The car gets its name from being a smaller unique baby brother to my 1000whp corvette. I think I will be painting them the same color and hydro dipping interior pieces similar to that of the corvette. I'm pretty horrible at pictures and updating things but I will try my best. I got my donor very very cheap and it had quite a few aftermarket parts with it. I will take a look at what I will use and what I won't. I'm trying an alternative company for a wiring solution (dieting stock harness for me) and I will be more than happy to inform you guys how that goes. I'm sure I will have many questions and will try to update this post as frequent as possible. I'm located in Westminster Maryland and if any guys want to come check it out or give me a hand along the way feel free to message me!

Welcome to the forum!

What is your build plan/power goals for the 818C?

So build plan/power goals are going to be moderate at best 300-350 whp and I want it to be a fun car to drive and take it on some road course events. The donor I recieved actually had 1000cc injectors upgraded turbo and external wastegate setup.

Nice! Will it be street registered as well?

Hey Newkitguy
I took possession of my 818C kit on October 12 and so far have spent about 300 hrs on fitting the body! I've made some mods along the way. I plan to use my car as a street whip also, so I'm building it accordingly. The last thought on my mind now is paint color. I estimate another 600 hours to finish my car to my satisfaction. My thought is that everyone wants to do their mechanicals first, then the body work, which might be leaving the hardest part till last. This might lead to glossing over some important tidbits in order to complete the project on schedule. My body will be sent out for paint while I'm working on my mechanicals, hopefully speeding up my build process. Those are my thoughts anyway. Good luck and enjoy the journey!

Welcome and let me know if you need any help, I'm not too far away. I've go-karted and am now working on the body.

Follow my build thread "first 818c build" for my build tips. Pics show more than I can explain in short. You may find more than you want! Just remember that everyone has their own thoughts on building a car. That's called "builder's discretion". It leaves everything wide open to your interpretation.
