I forget which show it was, maybe Truck U or Garage Squad, but they were finishing up an interior and the last thing they did was cover the interior with a self-adhesive duct liner product. Said it was available everywhere, came in 12" x 15' rolls, and was about 1/8" thick. The deal was it cost a ton less than the stuff we usually use. Naturally, I did a search and came up with one manufacturer who makes a product that fit the description. It's made by Frost King and is a medium density foam and an aluminum skin. Sticks fairly well and goes on easily enough, but the show hosts should have actually tried to glue something to it before they recommended it. I can't find anything, so far, that will stick the carpet to this stuff. Tape won't stick to it. I've tried aluminum duct tape, Gorilla tape, Weldwood contact cement, 3M 90, 3M 77, and Loctite spray contact. The only way I got good results was by using a Scotchbrite pad prior to applying the Loctite. Way too much work.
