I really never had a grandmother until I married my wife, my maternal GM died before I was born and my paternal one had only one favorite grandchild and the rest almost didn't exist to her. My wife is named after her and my third daughter shares her name also but we all just call her Nanny. Nanny welcomed me like her own blood grandchild and I her. She lived in the same town and I saw her 2-3 times a week for the last 15 years. She was a wonderful woman and a great friend to me. She was 92 years old and will be missed. She passed this afternoon with her daughter, my wifes sister, my wife and me by her side so very peacefully.
Services are Sunday May 22 at 12:30 at Searcy's Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the medical children's camp that her great grandson (4 yo w/cancer) goes to:
