I have done a mod to the side vents on my car I raised the top vent line(currently level) and widended the vent by 1 inch. now that I am in primer and looking at the body lines I am not sure but I think I need to cut and move the top line on an angle to match the body line on the doors. I have 2 pics tell me your thoughts on the lines.

I have alot of work into the mod so far but the car is not going to paint for a bit and if I am gonna change it now is the time.

extend the tape to the door line so we can see the relationship. The original was a sweeping curved continuation, I think to move it higher it should run parallel to the door line

I would leave it, but how about a shot of the whole side of the car?

here are a few pics, its the best I can do from in the garage. the 2 lines ( door and vent line) are far enough apart they dont really contrast each other. I dont mind it the way it is just looking at thoughts

IMHO, if you changed the angle of the vent line ( pic #4) you should extend and blend it to the door crease. That's a lot of work but it can transform the look of the car.

that was on my radar to do as a mod but was not sure what it would look like. and yes it would be alot of work.

I'm with Adam - it looks good as it is.

I did a similar change and increased the size of the vent at the same time. I used a flat sanding board with 60 grit paper and took the edge of the line across the door so it was not as prominant. What you intend to do with paint and paint line separation will also impact the influence that line has. IMO!

I'd also say leave it. The current angle flows better with the seam of the engine lid and angle of the humps.

It looks great to me. I would not change it IMO.

Way back when I started this that was the origional plan was to follow the engine cover lines but to me seemed to agressive. Its a hard spot because there are so many lines coming to one area. Thanks for all the input
