Finally starting to move forward with my build. Looking at some build threads I see that it appears that many builders have used the 2" rivet spacing on both panel to panel and panel to frame points. Are people seeing a benefit from doing this or is it more a personal preference ?

Supposed to be panel to panel is 2", 3" for a panel attaching to tubing/frame. A lot will be covered up, but even spacing regardless of the distance looks nicer.

The 2-inch spacing for panel to panel and 3-inch for panel to frame guideline mentioned works well. Some guys use more, but I don't think it's necessary. Keep in mind the panel bonding is a combination of rivets and adhesive. I agree keep them neat and straight. Sure, lots are covered. But many are not, and it makes a difference in the overall build appearance quality.

Agreed with the above - although I just used that as a guide. I used a rivet spacing tool - check out aircraftspruce.com for their verion - to ensure that I was spacing them evenly and in a straight line. It's amazing how the eye can pick out a single rivet that is out of line. Also, remember that you don't want them to be too close as it could act like a zipper in the event of an accident.

Never thought of this. Thanks for pointing it out.

Used recommended spacing with the included guide. With silicone adhesive between the pieces car is very tight.

I also agree that aesthetics play a factor and did more black rivets in my trunk area. The tangerine color matches my stripes and guages and is a colored roll on Bedliner material.
