Alright, so I'm pretty set on doing a T-56 Magnum in the car. I've got the new IRS and the motor will be a 302 based 347. Problem being that I'm not sure if that's possible... the length of the shaft between the U-joints is about 3" and I think the T-56 has 3" on the TKO. That being said does anyone have any ideas? Weld the two U-joints together? move motor mounts? Anyone done it before and have a thread they can direct me to? Or is this not feasible?
Thanks in advance for replies!

Did it a few years ago and it worked out. The drive shaft actually wended up about 6" long. You may need to modify the trans mount and crossmember to fit everything properly.

I have the regular T-56 in my Coupe behind my LS motor. I just moved the engine forward enough (3") to make it work out just fine. Works great and shifts so much better than the TKO did. The weight shift of moving the engine forward really helped eliminate the oversteer issues I had been chasing. BTW the weight bias changes about 1% for every inch the engine moved.
