Zero decibles hinges?

For those that have Mechies hood hinges how did you fill in the geap between the mounts and the hood. There is a 1/2" gap on one side and flush on the other. Please post your ideas of what you did.

I am trying to fine something that looks nice for showing off.

Also I notice the hood has a lot of flex in it when open did anyone add any structure to the hood?

I built up pads with fiberglass and the 1/4 glass in studs to bolt on the hinges. Photos in my thread

I made a flat surface to mount to using balsa wood to shape carbon fiber. I reinforced my hood and it is quite stiff. Pics on my thread as well.
