Any Tips For 818C?

Hey guys I just joined the forum a little while ago and was wondering if you guys have any tips. I am 15 years old and I am building the 818 Coupe with my uncle, here in Ontario, Canada. Is there anything I should know about the building process or any problems that we might run into? *Our donor Subaru is all apart and we have ordered the kit* Thanks for the advice in advance!

Much of it will be similar to the 818S. There's a thread that is stickied somewhere that gives tips and tricks. As far as coupe specific parts of the process, very few have one so far.

Lucky kid!!!!! Since every donor car will be little different, and every builder has a different level of experience, everyone is going to run into different problem areas. I've learned to google just about everything. If I have a problem with something, I search it, because 99% of the time someone else has already had that same problem and offered up their solution.

To search on here I've found google works a lot better than the forum search function. Just add "site:thefactoryfiveforum.com" after your search term in google (without the quotes).

2. Plan for future projects. Think about maintaining, fixing, replacing or upgrading when you install something.
3. Accept that you'll install everything twice. At least.
4. When you get frustrated walk away. Think it through or go online and a solution will appear.
5. Remember it's the journey, not the destination. Don't give anybody a date when it will be finished.

I printed that out in a full sheet landscape, laminated it and hung it in the garage. It is great advice and I've been trying to teach my 15 year old son the same things.
