I am looking at buying an already completed 65 Coupe but the one big drawback to me is the lack of seals on the doors and side windows. I live in Florida where air conditioning is a must unexpected rain storms are common. No seals or poor seals on the doors and side windows defeat the purpose of a/c and are a real problem if I get caught in the rain. Has anyone come up with a way to completely seal the doors and side windows?

I got about as good as you can. I added some foam seals to the door area on my coupe. I had to modify the window frames a lot during my build to get a good seal. I also added the Russ Thompson 1/4 windows. They will never be like a production car. It is a race car replica. Check out my build thread for my type 65 coupe. I live in Alachua , FL.

Wallace18: Nice job on the windows. I'm at that stage. Having trouble with the straight piece of metal that came with the windows. "Weather strip bracket"? Any pics of how that is used. Neil

I used the one that came with the Russ Thompson 1/4 windows directions show how. You are talking about the part that goes on the body at the back of the window right?

Yes. I'm trying to see where and what it attaches to.

Page 308-309 of the manual shows this somewhat. Here is a picture of the Russ Thompson bracket. It mounts about the same way. You cut a slit up top then rivet or use screws. Then the bottom attaches to the fender well inside same as above, rivets or screws. I use screws so it can come out for paint if needed. In the second picture it shows how I clamped the window to the body and then it allowed me to modify the frame to the door to get a better fit. I hope this helps. The windows are a little tricky IMO.

Thanks. The pictures really helped. I had looked at the manual numerous times but could not visualize the placement. Neil

I just read through your entire build thread. Very nice job!!! This weekend I was in your neck of the woods for a speed boat regatta on the Suwannee River. Will you by any chance have your car at the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona next week?
