First Post. Looking very hard at the 818C kit for a future purchase, but I don't have the time or money to run to FF main office to see one in person. Since a return by Factory Five to Carlisle isn't likely, anyone in the central MD area willing to show off theirs? I have a bunch of questions if someone is willing to listen and answer.

I'm no where near MD (upstate NY), but if you're ever in the area you are welcome to stop by. In the mean time, I wouldn't mind providing some pictures or answering any questions you have on here (I'm sure others would feel the same way).

Welcome to the community!

We are at about the 90% mark. You can come visit us when we are working on it. Usually Friday nights. We are in Savage. PM me if you are interested.

Welcome PSUalum,
You won't find a 818C finished yet outside of FFR. They just started shipping them about a month ago.
"John G" has a finished 818s in Silver Springs MD. Shoot him a Private Message.

I'm about an hour from central Maryland and am just starting on the body work but have a running 818S. Let me know if you want to go for a ride before the weather gets too cold.

First of all, let me say "WOW"! I sure was surprised at how fast you all responded to my request. Thanks.

That said, PearlDrummer7, thanks for the invite. Let you know if I need anything specific. Right now I'm just trying to figure some things out (like budget: time, space, and money).

Bob_n_Cincy, I didn't expect to find anyone with a "C" yet. I knew it just came out. But thanks for the map link, been trying to do that all weekend.

K3LAG: Love to see yours. I'll PM you later on to see what Friday may work. I work in Columbia, so you won't be too far for a quick detour.

STiPWRD: Ditto on yours, I have passed thru Leesburg on several occasions and know the area around fairly well, are you far off Route 15? Will PM you later.

My Step One involves getting the last child thru college (still has 3 semesters), then the major bills get easier. In the meantime, my son and I are going to go to the build school next April/May for the 818. Hopefully, that will keep me satisfied in the meantime while I start searching for the donor.

Have my fingers crossed that FFR will come back to Carlisle in the spring. Haven't seen them in a few years. Had one kit builder tell me it isn't worth the trouble.

Anyway, thanks again.

Fyi, there is an 818 for sale on nasioc that is in alexandria, va. His ad states he's close to go karting. May be worth considering for the budget savings.
