Hi everyone! I have been a lurker here for a while. When I saw that the 818C has finally been released I decided it was time to sign up!

I am from Hershey, PA and have been wanting to build a Factory 5 car for a long time. I hope to learn a lot more before taking the plunge into building (in this next 12 months or so).

I have a bunch of other projects in and around the house to complete before I plan to start an intensive build like this.

I am looking forward to being a part of this community!

Thanks wallace18. I plan on getting the pdf of the manual shortly to go through the whole thing before I even place my order. I'm looking forward to pictures from SEMA of the Ecoboost version. That is the engine I would like to go with. I will be up in MA in december on business so I might take a detour to see the 818C in person and ask lots of questions.

Hey Ken!
We actually haven't fit the Ecoboost engine into one of our 818s yet.. It's still a work in progress with the guys here. But if you're going to be in the area in December give us a call so we can give you a tour and answer all of your questions :)

I will definitely give you guys a call. I plan to be up that way on the 14th and 15th of December.

Courtnie,
Will the 818C be at the factory the week of December 14th or will it be out getting filmed for the Ecoboost install? That would be the primary reason for my visit.

Ken, as far as we all know here the car should be here.
The only thing planned for it coming up is a photo shoot, but it isn't actually scheduled yet.

Welcome to the forums. The "Traveling Builder" lives right there in Hershey so some of the best help is not far from your door.

Thanks Doug. In my lurking in the forums I did see the "traveling builder" is about 10 minutes from my place. I'm sure I will be contacting him at some point.

I can't recommend Mark (the travelling builder) highly enough.

Great guy, showed more patience than a saint when my wife wanted to help with the wiring. More knowledge than you can shake a stick at. True car guy - just gets stuff done, makes it work and no fuss.

He's someone you probably want to meet in real life and talk cars with, even if you don't need any help.

If I win the euromillions lottery tonight, my kids might find themselves in boarding school, and I'm living 10 minutes from Marks' shop so i can try and learn everything he knows by working for free and following him around like a bad smell. (he thinks I'm kidding).

Thanks. I love it here! Born an raised and live in the same zip code! It's a great car area too. The big AACA meet is in Hershey every October and Carlisle is only 30 minutes away! The Porsche club also has a big spring meet here and the history hill climbs.
