Hi guys here is a sample test of the water air intercoolers from frozen boost. 3" in and out.
This is the hottest I cold get the intake reading and let it settle out until the outlet stabilized.
The inter cooler was hot on the top as this is where the heat gun was applying the intense heat.
The air nozzle seen in the vice was the Ty rapped on and blasting into the water fitting. Shop vacuum sucking air through the intercooler.
This is just a test as I just installed the sensors and though I wonder if this thing really works.
Dam I was impressed at the temp difference!

I assume the air coming out of the air nozzle was from a compresor? Wonder what temperature it was as expanding air tends to cool down. I just bought that same gauge and have the same AWIC core so eventually we can compare data.

Cool experiment! I've got the same core as well.

Also, aluminum has great heat capacity so it will absorb lots of heat as the metal takes time to heat up. So it's important to note how much time elapsed while the heat gun was running and the temp measurement was taken.

The actual application is far more impressive!

I also have that AWIC, with a dual temperature gauge. I am constantly amazed by that little aluminum box. I drive the same 4 mile hill going home every day, its steep, straight and fast. Its a fifth gear pull going about 60-70mph. The air going into the intercooler will be ~190F, and right around ambient after the AWIC! How it it possible?! ~120 degree drop in 8", and even more as winter approaches.
