I am just getting starting on here. I am hoping to find some good threads to read and advice on selection kit options. I want to do a build with the Coyote Engine, and IRS. I have heard a couple of things from my friend Don Payne. On thing I need to be conscience of is my height and leg length. I am 6'3" tall and found the driver side of Don's kit to be cramped for the length of my legs. I don't even know what questions to start asking at this point. I have been watching the kits for several years and have always wanted to build one. I would like some help getting pointed in the right direction. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome! I'm doing a 2015 Coyote build with 2015 Mustang IRS. Just three months in and still a long way to go. But check it out. Build thread link my my sig line. Many have made the space necessary for your height. Factory Five sells big and tall seats that provide a little more space. There are other seat options as well. Also note the info in my build thread about restoring driver's side footbox width with a Coyote. That also would help you. Hopefully others with more knowledge and experience with this will chime in.

Stuart,

The Kirkey Vintage low back seat mounted on the floor all the way back will give you plenty of room. I'm sure others will chime in with other ideas ... lots of tall drivers out there.

I'm 6 foot and have almost too much leg room.

You didn't mention where you are located. If you are anywhere near FFR or Huntington Beach you should plan on visiting the factory or going to the cruise in at HB. The advantage of going to the cruise in is you would have almost any sort of seat combination you can think of. Guys are usually willing for you to try out the seat. I had heard many different stories about the 818 but got a chance to sit in one at HB so now I know that I could fit into one of those with stock seats if necessary. I never actually took my own advice but from the forums (here and FFcars) I saw so many different sizes and shapes fitting into the roadster, I took a leap of faith and got the kit. I know one guy who is very close to your size and he fit just fine in his 4.6 mod powered roadster. It would be close to the size of your engine choice. So you will probably need to make the accommodations in the cockpit to adjust for your leg length. There are several strategies that work. If you are very long waisted you might have more of an issue with eyes peering over the windscreen. If you are evenly proportioned, it should be just fine. Some really big guys have fit in these cars.

Good luck,

WEK.
