Hi Guys,
I found an old photo a few weeks ago.
Back in Junior High when I was 12 years old I built a bunch of motorized bicycles.
That's me in the background barefoot as usual, my brother David Forte on the left and our cousin Ronald Weber.
That summer of 1968 Ron visited for 2 weeks. He was amazed that I built a homemade mini bike and he wanted one.
So my Mom took us to the dump and we go an old bike frame, a few tires & seat with handle bars.
A neighbor on Saunders Terrace, Jim Navone gave me an old brush cutter.
We went to Triumph of Wellesley and bought a twist grip for the throttle and the building started. I remember cutting the angle iron for the engine mount and drilling the holes. A few days later here it is with the proud owner.
A few years ago I was visiting Kingston New York at my cousins house. I John Weber what ever happened to the "Chopper" (that's what Ron called it)? He said he has parts of it in the shed.
I proudly have the frame of this old relic at work. I guess this is where it all started?
