Does anyone know the temp rating of fiberglass? I am trying to figure out how much of a bucket/shield i need to make for my rear bumper.

Will depend on what resin FFR uses.

Judging from the AJW exhaust that exits in the top middle, directly through the fiberglass, guessing you should be pretty OK though.

Originally my exhaust was touching my fiberglass.
46815
It discolored the fiberglass where it was touching.
I added an aluminum ring around the pipe.

Where did you get the aluminum ring? Do you think they make an oval one?

I had to mod it to make it fit the curved surface.
I did not see an oval one.

I like the aluminum ring you got to work. I think I may get two of them and fab them together for each side. Also a buddy of mine is into carbon fiber molding. I thought about creating an mold and have the carbon tunnel back into the bumper. I would have to find some high temp resin.

I like the dual tips, keep us updated on these. These would look awesome on an 818..

You could always get the carbon fiber cover or make one something like this https://www.lancershop.com/customer/images/D/heat-shield-c-01.jpg but for duel set up. The only problem I see with the current set up is the flex in the exhaust rubbing or cracking the body. So you may need to make the holes bigger but most easy way to tell would mount a camera see how much it moves.

I think it looks great though my only greef is the added unneeded weight on a 4cyclinder car, but this looks to be worth it just based on the style! What exhaust are you using?

That is great idea. I will stick a camera back there and see how it does when driving around.

Just for reference, a 20+psi turbo 2.5l is pushing as much exhaust as a 6.0l V8. This helps rationalize the larger exhaust ;)

Those tips look SO cool! love it!
Post a picture of the tube routing.

I had no idea this was true. Never really thought about it.

That sounds great. I like the twin tips, but the close contour of the fiberglass for the dual tips doesn't do it for me. Why not open it up to an oval?

Thanks all, now I am trying to figure out the best way to keep the exhaust from moving much. I believe my MR tranny and engine mounts will keep it from moving much, but I am struggling with how to do the exhaust hangers.
