Tires for 18" Halibrands

First I apologize if this topic has been discussed before. I did a search and could not find the answer.
I purchased the Summer Special package which came with the 18" wheels. I have been looking for tires and it appears that there are not too many choices. Has anyone found tires for the 18" wheels that are less than $200 each? Thanks

Just researched this for a potential build. Selection is limited and prices are high. Lowest cost in a 315/30-18 rear and 245/40 or 255/40-18 front will be Toyo 888 or Nitto NT-01 at about $1,100 to $1,200 per set. Both of are an R comps with 100 treadwear rating which will probably only go 5,000 miles or so. Stepping up to a longer life 200 treadwear you get Goodrich Rivals or Falken 615Ks at $1,300+ per set. Beyond that are various Michelin and Pirellis that will top $1,500 per set.

I just ordered nitto 555's in 255/40 and 315/35 for 121 for fronts and 184 for rears. I think it was. Total from discount tire was 664&$ shipped with stems. Sumitomo also makes them ok those sizes but people seem to be quite unhappy with this. Or, there's the stickier option that mr Jeff gave.

Wow at those prices. I did not realize that there would be such a step up in tire prices between the 17" and 18" tires. At the risk of hijacking this thread, is there any real advantage to going with the 18" wheels?

Tire selection in 18 is getting better than 17's That's why I went that way

Folks, thank for the replies. Once I realized that the cost was going to be a bit more than expected I called FFR and asked if I could switch to the 17" wheels. Their response was a qualified "no". The upgraded Wilwood brake package will not fit a 17" rim, and those slotted and drilled rotors are really pretty. So I will just suck it up and go with what is available. Those donuts to show off the car will be rather expensive and done at the cost of tire wear.

Depends on which Wilwood brakes are being discussed. If it's the newer 13 inch front and 13 inch back set introduced with the 2015 Mustang IRS versions, those I believe do only fit in 18 inch wheels. I suspect that's what the response from FF was regarding. I believe they were offered not only with the anniversary edition but only as part of the summer promotion package. They aren't listed on the kit options list or in the on-line catalog.

275 35 R18 with 9.5 wide.

Think it will fit ? what kind of offset would i need ? I want the most agressif set up i can get.

Don't think you're going to find too many people with experience using the 18 inch wheels on the Roadster. Those are a brand new offering from FF. Biggest before was 17's. Why not just use the same sizes and offsets as the FF setup with the new IRS? It apparently works.

Front Wheel Size (Diameter x width): 18"x 9"
Rear Wheel Size (Diameter x width): 18"x 11"
Front Wheel Backspace: 6.00" (24mm Offset)
Rear Wheel Backspace: 6.46" (12mm Offset)

They recommend 255/35ZR18 on the front and 315/30ZR18 for the rears. That's also the same size as on the Anniversary prototype. I took pictures and confirmed them. Guys go up to 275 widths with the 17's, but do end up hitting the inner fenders. I imagine the same would be true for 18's, but don't know. Those 255's look pretty meaty to me.

Forget about getting Michelin Pilot Sport (PS2). Lead time on 315/30 ZR18's is about 6 months. Porsche can not even get them for their production models :(

Has anyone tried the BFGoodrich G-FORCE RIVAL S? They have a P315/30ZR18 / P245/40ZR18 combo that might work. It's a 200 tread wear for under $1,200.

I'm running the original Rival's 275/315 sizes. They actually ride better than the XS's I had. I wish the rear wheels I had were 11's as the 315 on 10.5 is a bit wide. 11.5" even better. BTW I have rear fender flares.
