I think it's pretty uncommon to find a picture of underneath the car. I don't remember seeing many.

I am very interested in a particular area, behind the rear wheels and towards the gearbox, but still outside the rear diffuser.

How does it look like from under the car? Is it a closed area, flat, open, angled, round?

I'm trying to find some locations to fit my NACA ducts for my very rear oil cooler location.

If anyone has a picture of that area, I'd love to see it.

tnx

that under engine piece is nice. I wish I had one.

I have the same plan frank. We both have lots of room on either side of the engine. Ducted side scoops, naca ducts in the floor, and an almost completely open rear bumper "should" flow a ton of cool air through there.

My aluminum piece in front of the diffuser doesn't look like that. It's just a flat piece.

am i the only one missing the piece for under the engine? or was it not released with the final product?

Same here. Plus mine is actually about an inch short of reaching the diffuser so I have a little gap.

I'm pretty sure this was not released. Maybe it came with the rear diffuser?

I did not get one and I bought the diffuser.

Mine also came with the diffuser.

Grrrr...this is a pet-peeve of mine. The diffuser really needs that piece if it has any real chance of doing diddly with the airflow under the car. So much opportunity and it's squandered.

Additionally, that piece shouldn't have gaps - nor for that matter that "step up" in the picture (if anything, it should go in the other direction or better, be in the same plane across the entire width of the frame). With the forward mount on the lower frame and the rear mount on the aft frame-members, it should actually have a slope around 4 deg., and that folks is the true start of the diffuser. With such a gradual entry you should be able to easily get away with 9 deg or more on the carbon portion of the diffuser and get good flow - then the flat floor would make good on its inherent promise of a very low pressure zone.

Man, I wish we'd see some thoroughly designed solutions in this respect.

Best,
-j

If you got the diffuser like me they latert added that engine cover and they sent it to me. Mine is a flat piece as well not formed like that.

Wow it's really not like I thought it would be. My under engine is flat too and I didn't get it with the kit as well, I had to ask afterwards and they shipped it to me.

There's not place to fit a duct anywhere behind the engine. I think I know where I'll fit my NACA ducts, but I need some small ones, my engine support tubes are taking just too much space for a medium sized duct.
