I am new from North Carolina. Ive been looking at these cars for a while now. I wanted to build one with my father, well make him build it with me since he isn't a car guy. But I figured it would be good bonding.

Almost pulled the trigger a couple years back, then had a nasty split, and custody fight. Spent a lot on money on a lawyer to fight for my daughter. I won.. Had to rebuild the bank account... It is not built back, but I want to start on a car, do a budget type build, and go back later and replace anything.. And no, I don't mind redoing work.... Working on a car relaxes me...

I used to build imports.. Mainly Subaru's, so I know my way around a shop and an engine. I hope to gain knowledge and share what I have learned/will learn.

I am open to suggestions on places for parts and all.... I have already had a very good phone call and conversation with Mike Forte. Very awesome to deal with...

Thanks
BG

Welcome. I'm just joining the crowd as well. What you looking to build?

I think I'm shooting for a GTM...wouldn't mind doing a roadster though.

Welcome. DO LOTS OF REASEARCH. I can't emphasize that enough. The GTM is a complex build compared to the other FFR kits. You can save a ton of money and headaches researching on this forum and ffcars.com. (They still have a lot more info on GTMs there) There are lots of great people and build threads to help you. Check out Kalstar budget build thread on this forum. Good luck with your build.

Sorry, confused your thread with the other new guy. I've been into fords since the late 80's. You'll be able to complete a roadster for way less than a GTM. PLENTY of good threads here on the roadster!

If your choice is a roadster there are some very good resources here in NC. Where are you located and what car are you leaning towards? I'm in the early stages of a roadster build and know of another here in this area that's in the early stages. I also have contacts with other FFR builders.

AWD. Looks like this Saturday's breakfast might have a very light turnout or be cancelled. Watch the thread for next months. Typically the second Saturday of the month.

Depending on what you decide to build, I have a fully functional 1988 NASA CMC race car. Has the 5.0 motor, T5 trans, aluminum drive shaft, rear-end etc. Am selling the car for $4,500 so could be a good way to get the drive train, suspension and brakes if you decide to go MK roadster build. You can reach me at darren@dbradycpa.com if interested.

Good luck with whatever you decide to build.

Welcome! I'm also from NC. You can't really go wrong with any FFR kit, in the end you'll always end up with a car that will get you more (and better) attention than a store bought car lol.
