This build has been an absolute blast and I'm enjoying the miles on the street even more. Don't let anyone tell you it's not possible to build a donor coupe on a budget.

I don't know how I missed this thread, but wow does that car look great!

One question: what side pipes are those, and what is your impression of them? If I remember correctly, you are using an SOHC 4.6 engine. I am guessing that those are roadster pipes for that engine. In any case they look right.

You are correct they are the roadster pipes and I am using manifolds and J pipes. Impressions depend on rpm range idle and cruising they gave a nice rumble though hearing protection is a must. WOT can be painful

Somebody at work asked me, "Why did you choose number eleven?" I answered, "If you shoot craps and you roll a pair of ones they call that snake eyes." I love that color!

Passed inspection? Well, almost. The inspectors told me to buy two radiator hose clamps and use them to mount the fire extinguisher on the roll bar. When I've done that they will pass her at tomorrow's technical inspection. My safety gear (helmet, gloves, boots, and clothing) also passed, so maybe I didn't need the arm restraints. Hell, if I need cockpit ventilation I stick an elbow out of the window. That's as much protrusion as the car allows. The inspectors were quite nice and pointed out a radiator hose clamp that was leaking. They took care of that with a screwdriver. There was also a tiny bit of play in the steering linkage which they with their socket wrench and I with my allen wrench applied to the set screw eliminated. I will be running with number 62 in the race.
