Is there any reason I couldn't cut the majority of this off and weld these supports on the chassis? I also want to weld a new tab that goes up to where the pin attaches.

OMG i hate all this social app crap (besides the forums of course) ;) Google + has made it so difficult to copy a image url. Hopefully I can figure this out soon.
...wow I finally figured it out. In an effort to connect everyone in the world to your photos, Google has managed to make the simple things more and more complex..

I was wondering the same thing, I am at this point as well, I was thingking of cutting off the mounting tab and then C clamp the latch bracket in place till its where I want it and then run a bead down the bracket to the frame and paint the hole thing. then drop in your triangular filler plate! I like it. Ok you convinced me to make this happen thanks!

Ha-ha, the only thing I can think of is that the factory wanted to account for slight variations in frame or body. Also, future side panels will need adjustments. Honestly though, if I need to move it later, I will just grind off and move. OK, if you are doing it, I am doing it :)

Does anyone have a picture of that triangle filler piece in place? Mine looks like I have to trim the triangle piece a lot to fit to the body piece?

I don't follow here. Mine, the bracket with 2 big bolts through, is already welded from the factory.

I thing what he is saying is to attach the L bracket to the body and latch. then weld it to the frame and then cut off the bracket (the one with the 2 big bolts) that is already welded just to clean it up and have a nice flat smooth transtion without seeing a bracket.

How does it look with the panel over it?

Adam,
I had to cut a lot of the panel to make it fit. FFR may have revised that panel since the early kits.
You really can't see much of my panel with my seats installed.
