Finally making some progress on my dash.

That's a very nice looking dash. Can't wait to see the end result.
Are the 2 "pods" (behind the steering wheel and the glovebox) raised from the rest of the dash? Neat idea, I've never seen that tried.
Keep us posted.

They are raised, but just about 5/8 of an inch. Just wanted the add a little depth, and character to the dash.

Did you mark how far the body comes down over the dash before you removed it? (much more than previous versions)
Also, if you are planning to install dash mounting screws on the top, they will also have to be moved because the body lip covers the original locations. on mine the center screw was half covered (would be a challenge to remove) and the 2 end screws were not even visible (almost impossible to remove).
Just trying to avoid some issues as you get further along. It has potential to change you dash plans if it interferes with your new "pods".

Good Luck, mods are never straight forward.

Thanks, I will test fit the body again this weekend and make sure I have good clearance.

I am planning on studs with an adjustment capability so the screws from the front won't be an issue.

Also, not rolling the edge of the front cockpit so not a knuckle buster with the steering wheel.

Sorry, didn't read your sig, I don't think you'll have the issues I identified with your mk3.
Keep us posted on the dash, looks like a cool mod.
What's the rest of the build looking like?

Slowly working toward my first engine start. Working the shifter, drive shaft, and radiator, then off to the wiring and plumbing up the rest of the engine. A little bit of a challenge since so few 4.6l 3V's are out there. Having a great time building!
