Hello all. I've been following Factory Five for at least 10 years but haven't yet made the plunge for the building, owning, and driving of one of theses beasts, YET!!!!

I like most all of the various cars but unfortunately or fortunately the GTM is the lowest on the like list---- Don't read that as "I don't like it" though.

I recently took a little drive to Wareham, Mass and toured the home office with Mr. Smith. Unfortunately, it was raining that day so I didn't ask for a test ride---- but since I didn't ask, I didn't get told "NO"... LOL The tour did nothing to tell me that I didn't want to do this, much to chagrin of my wife. The second "sad" part of that day is I failed to do ANY test sits in the cars on display! I did look them over very closely though....

Anyway, about me----- 58 yrs old, overweight diabetic Registered Nurse with a bad knee. I really like the grandparent role and look forward to a team build involving grandkids and there fathers on this build. Presently the most likely candidates to help Grandpa are 2 at age 12 and 2 at age 7.

I hope to remeet Dave and team again at Sema in Las Vegas in November 2015. Maybe, I'll find a car or two there that I can test sit and ride in..... Sorry, I drifted off into dream land again! LOL

Welcome to the forum. Your plans of having a build "team" are excellent and something you will remember forever. Look me up when you get to SEMA as I will be there and more than willing to answer any questions and get you into the drivers seat.

Don't worry, I'm 45, overweight, have a bad back and knee. I bought my MKIV kit on an educated hunch that I can modify it to fit my girth, and so far, very little needs to be modified to fit me. These are surprisingly roomy, the big and tall seats help. there is a lot of adjustability with the steering column. In extreme cases, you can make some other fitment mods, but I'm able to fit with just a few minor mods. I am installing an AOD auto in mine to keep from having to use a clutch. I think the biggest issues are for people with very long legs. I did talk with others and FFR about fitment for me, they all recommended a 33 hot rod, but after reviewing measurements I went with the Roadster instead. You can fit and drive one comfortably. I am still on track to get to the go-kart stage before Christmas.

Thanks for the encouraging responses.... gladly even though I am Overweight I am only 5'8" with a 29" inseam.... so long legs are not an issue and the bad knee is the one operating that narrow "go fast" pedal so I am thinking a F150 truck take out Coyote 5L with a 5 or 6 speed and the IRS.

I don't know what part of Utah you reside in. But if you are in the south end of Salt Lake County, and have nothing to do Saturday, there will be a quick meeting of a few roadsters at 11400 South Redwood Road, In the 7-11 parking lot. We will be leaving there at 9:30 to head down to Saratoga Springs, to join with some others.

Feel free to stop by or even follow if you want to have some fun. We are heading around Nebo loop

The get together is long past, but I wanted to make contact with any FFR roadster builders in SL county. I am a bit overwhelmed (just finishing the inventory) and my learning curve will be steep. I am a school teacher so have some time availble during the summer and over various vacations. The purchase has attracted the attention of two grown sons so that is a good thing. I am not even sure how to post to these sort of groups.
