I live pretty close to where Rt. 66 heads out of the Chicago area, so this morning I headed down to Joliet and drove the stretch from there to Dwight. Along the way, I couldn't resist stopping for a photo op with the Launching Pad giant.

Great shot! There are so many great locations on Rt. 66 in Illinois! I think the old State Police building (shaped like a revolver!) would be a great backdrop. It's in Pontiac.

The stretch from Dwight to Pontiac is next on the list. Going to make a day out of it with the wife (in her '67 Camaro) and a few other people with their old cars... we'll have our own rolling show.
