I am mounting my e-brake on top of tunnel, but my cables are too long. I thought maybe I could make a new bracket mounted further back (over the diff) that will take up the slack. That works in principle but the inner part of cable has a severe change in angle because this bracket will me mounted quite high (underside of triangular sheet in trunk).

The best solution would be to have cables that are shorter and use the two hole bracket in the chassis. Did anyone else overcome a similar problem?

I moved mine to the drivers side (between the seat and the door) and needed new cables for all 3. I got them from Control Cables - all 3 for under $135 including shipping. They had them to me fast too. They included the bracket and clips as well. Very good experience and no messing with stuff that didn't fit.

I just installed a 95 mustang e-brake handle on the driver side top tunnel. A couple trips to West marine to modify brake cable ends and a wire harken block. I also had to Fab a longer cable from the handle. I used 2" angle iron for mounting cables and handle.
