Hello
In the planning stage to start a build.
I know we have a new law here in MA but its still not clear how registration would work for a newly built FFR car. This car would have a Summit combo Coyote engine and transmission and not have an engine from an older donor Mustang.
So not sure if that is even possible in MA with regards to passing emissions etc.
Many thanks

Yes, it is possble you would need to buy a car to scrap.
1973 or older
engine greater than the size of the engine to be used.
Car has to be registered for 12 months of the last five years.
The car has to be scrapped and documents completed.
This car gets scrapped and an emmisions exemption is created for the FFR.
PM me and I can put you in touch with a person who can assist you with the details.

Hi Laurence,
I'm in the same boat as you. Planning to start a build next spring. Been reading the links from the RMV and others. Was hoping to find a comprehensive list of what is required for emissions and inspection, but that seems to be somewhat elusive....

I just posted a listing for my FFR in the for sale section. There was a window several years ago to register kit cars/hot rods and have them exempt from emissions. It is exempt from all emissions in MA. You can see it here:
