All ready to go for my inspection, or least I thought so. Stopped at the garage that handles this stuff a few hours ago for a sort of pre check and found out heat shields for the side pipes and bumpers are PA requirements. I didn't anticipate this.

Hi Fred, I completed the PA process last week and received my title last Thursday. You are correct. The strict interpretation of the regulations is you must have heat shields, bumpers, defrosters, windshield wipers, back up lights and self cancelling turn signals. Where are you in PA? Send me a private message and I can give you more information.

He is absolutely correct. You should get on the PA DMV website and download Subchapter K and Pub 45 (you will need Subchapter E). They are the inspection requirements for a Special Construction. Also get the Specially Constructed Vehicle titling Fact Sheet. There you get to read the titling procedure for these cars. I just got done with titling and registration last month. If you PM me your email I would be happy to send you all the info.
Basically, once you are complete with the Enhanced Inspection and the paperwork review is done, you take all the paperwork to a titling office, pay the sales tax on all the stuff you didn't pay tax on already, and give them a copy of the assembly instructions, they send it to Harrisburg for tag and title. I got my title 4 weeks later in the mail. My plate, registration and sticker was at the tag/title office a week after that. Then you have 10 days to get it a normal inspection.
Self canceling turn signals are only required if they were originally designed to do so. 175.80. (a)(9)(iii).

I agree. Subchapters E and K along with the fact sheet are critical documents. The good news is you are exempt from emissions. Between NukeMMC and me we can help you get the parts you need. Since I live near Harrisburg I went directly to PenDOT with my application after the enhanced inspection. I had my tags and registration in three weeks and my title the following week. I also have some ideas on the back-up lights to avoid cutting the body.

I just hung a Hella Led bar from a bracket I bent from .062" aluminum aND bolted center line of the trun flook right under the lat h bar. Run a keyed power lead to the tray switch then back to the light. Ground the light right there at the 3/4 tubing. Easy stuff.

So close...

No bumpers, no backup light, no self canceling turn signals and no defroster except I do have a heater just chose not to do the defroster.

Your backup light looks good.

Downloaded E and K.

Also looks like I need a dual master cylinder as opposed to the Factory Five supplied single version.
