we've read the manual over and over and attempted to get it off the way it instructs: pull front around door hinge mounts and then pull the rest up and off... but the back seems caught (on rear window seat), it will not budge up or back. does it need to be trimmed? are we just doing it wrong? help much appreciated. (SOLVED)

David,

Try and see where the body interior flaps meet the rear aluminum 1/4 panels and look if they are tangled up.
You really have to get some good angle on the body in order to lift it off.

You really have to raise the body in the front to slide it off.

If you are using the mustang tank from the donor or kit you will have to cut the body out before you can install it on the frame again with the tank mounted.

Believe me I know, LOL.

I have only helped w/ two body installs / removals but both had the front down and the rear up. IE, to remove, pull out the rocker panels so they clear the frame and hinges and lift the rear first. Once the rear is clear of the trunk framing, move the body forward a few inches so the front will come out from under the frame and then upward. BTW, you did make up a spacer stick for between the dash and the rear cockpit edge right?

Craig,
He's dealing with a Coupe not a roadster.

OOPS, I need to pay more attention to which forum I am in. I enjoy the coupe forum and check it nearly every day. Sorry guys.

That's okay, we understand.
It's what happens when the top of ones head has too much exposure to the elements...
