I have my 818c coming in September from the looks of it. One thing that I keep wondering is how hard is it to actually work on the engine once the car is all done? For example say its time to change a timing belt or water pump do you end up having to remove the motor? Or do we just need to remove some body panels? What kind of room do you get?
Owning a Toyota MR2 I know its crammed when its timing belt time, but its not to hard to do the timing belt just takes a little bit longer to get things done vs most cars.

If you remove the body panels it is easy to access almost anything. I've been using 10-32 rivnuts to mount the body instead of rivets. I've already had my body on and off several times.

We had a bad oil pump that we found out about once the engine was already in the car. To access it had to remove the timing belt (so essentially we did a timing belt job with the engine in the car). With the seats out and the firewall removed, it was do-able.

If you bolt on the body parts it will be easy. On my orange car I can have the entire rear of the car open in 15 minutes by myself. The front of the engine will always be a little difficult in the car, IMO.

Haven't heard anything since I ordered mine. When I called I was told I was 11 in line if I ordered that day. They said end of September I should be able to get mine though. I dont have any crazy hopes it will but planning accordingly and collecting all the parts needed from my local junk yard.

Good to know I will look into installing my paneling this way in the rear!
