Trying to install the new style transmission tunnel with the slot down the middle. Has anyone documented this fitment. Tunnel fits to firewall with a small about of cutting. Not sure of best way to install slot cover. Robs-Coyote/TKO/Moser

I cut mine in two pieces. One small piece behind the shift housing. Used 3/16" rivnuts with button heads. put heat shield on it ONLY where it doesn't overlap the tunnel. I will probably arrange the carpet or dynaliner so that center piece is seperate. This lets the tko go out the front without pulling the whole tunnel off. My shifter is one position forward with handle angled back.

Great, appreciate some pics if possible. I'm a visual person. Had the TKO trans delivered with shifter in rear position. This is similar to pic in manual. How do you seal around wiring harnesses. Lots of options, but I would guess someone has done this already. Tks.

i'm not sure if I took any pics of this, but I'll check this evening. However, I have the TKO 500 with shifter in rear position. On the front of the tunnel (big end) I cut an inch or more out of the piece tying the two sides together so I could squeeze it in to make it narrower. I actually got it skinnier than the opening in the floor panels, so I added a strip of aluminum to each side to have something to attach the tunnel flanges to. the center piece was then trimmed down in width considerably and the hole for the shifter was essentially the same diameter as the center piece was wide at that point, so I also had the center piece in two pieces. The tunnel is attached to the floor with removable rivnuts, therefore I didn't see a need to have the center strip removable (not much access room anyway) so I caulked and rivet it down to the main tunel.

When fitting the slot cover, how did you measure and cut the hole for the wiring harness. I am assuming a hole saw and a slice from the top to get the wire harness through. Great tip on squeezing the tunnel. Thanks.

Not sure I did a great job with that, but basically I bundled up all of the wires to go through the tunnel - and I had a lot since I had the stock wiring harness plus an EFI and Computer harness as well - the cut a half moon in the very end of the center piece and ran all of them through there. Its not airtight though.Ddoing it that way though allows the tunnel to be removed without bothering the wiring.
